The CPA, in conjunction with N5, is pleased to announce that it is now receiving abstracts for the CPA’s 84^th Annual National Convention and the 5^th North Amerin Correctional and Criminal Justice Psychology Conference, being held in Toronto, June 23-25, 2023. Abstracts n also be submitted for a pre-convention workshop, which will be held on June 22^nd.

The CPA is pleased to announce the launch of its Indigenous Student Award Program.? Its purpose is to encourage and support Indigenous (Inuit, First Nations, or Métis) students entering psychology undergraduate and graduate programs in nadian universities. This is an ademic merit-based award that also takes into consideration life factors such as motivation to excel in the field of psychology and level of need in overcoming barriers to attending university. Deadline for applitions is November 1, 2022.

The CPA is pleased to present three videos from early 2022 discussing reer paths in Psychology, collectively referred to as the Pathways series. These videos are a fast-paced and informative exploration of a range of perspectives from a number of experienced panelists discussing graduate studies and reer paths for students undertaking or planning future graduate work in Psychology.

Dear Members, Affiliates and Associates,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the CPA, we are writing to let you know that Dr. Karen Cohen, CPA’s CEO, will be retiring on March 3, 2023. Dr. Cohen has a long history with the CPA, having held several roles within the association, inclusive of Registrar of Accreditation, Associate Executive Director and since, 2008, its Executive Director and CEO.

The contributions and accomplishments Karen has helped to achieve span CPA’s activities across practice, science and edution. She has been a key CPA spokesperson, voice, and advote for the discipline and profession with colleagues outside of psychology, stakeholders, media and government. She has contributed to and led several of nada’s health and science initiatives and alliances, and her work has helped psychology impact public policy and programming across the country. Those who know her well, n speak to how responsive she has been to members, organizations, and the community, consistently helping to elevate their views and support their needs.

In notifying the Board of her retirement, Dr. Cohen said, “I want to thank the CPA Board, staff, and its membership for the opportunity to do this important work with you for nadian psychology. I hope my contributions will be a good foundation upon which new management n help move the association, the discipline, and the profession further still.”

The Board of Directors extends Karen their sincere thanks for her outstanding work and contributions. As a leader, a mentor, and a person, she will be deeply missed. We wish Dr. Cohen health and happiness as she takes her next steps.
